Foundry Bentonite
Foundry bentonite is an industrial grade bentonite clay specifically created for use in the industry of metal casting or foundry. It is used as a binder for moulding sand, and is critical for producing high strength, thermal stability, plasticity,and mould integrity during the casting of metals. We manufacture our foundry bentonite through a series of processes that include superior refinement and activation, to provide the end user with a much stronger bound material that has a high moisture advantage, controlled swelling, and a consistent particle size distribution.
Foundry bentonite provides the user with superior cohesiveness to the sand grains, it creates a harder mould, reduces defects in the pattern and improves the surface finish of the finished cast product.
